The blade is mumei and has been attributed to Toshinori (Jukaku) by the NTHK. The blade is in old polish and is well forged. The Kantei evaluation paperwork from the NTHK gave it a very healthy 75 points!
The hamon is absolutely beautiful on this blade. It forms out of the nekago right into a sweeping Osaka-Yakidashi that flows right into Ashi laden gonome.
Blade is presented in a beautiful koshirea that is in excellent condition. The same is starting to lift off of the tsuka near the kashira. See pics.
There is a clear Kirikomi on the mune of the blade.
Hada - Itame, the hada is not very pronounced as the blade is in old polish.
Hamon - Gunome, there are ashi present in many of the peaks of the gonume. This almost gives a bit of a chogi look to some of the clustered ashi. The blade also exhibits long Osaka-Yakidashi.
Boshi - Midare komi, very short kaeri
Nagasa (cutting edge length) - 27"
